Why Health Test Express?

Health Test Express works with certified lab partners around the country to make the at-home testing process as simple as possible. We offer panels that cover men’s and women’s health from STI testing to thyroid function. Don’t let high copays or taking time off work can stand in the way of getting the answers you need, when you need them.

What do I need to know about receiving my testing kit and collecting my samples?

Your kit can take up to 2 business days to ship. Once your testing kit has shipped, it will arrive within 1-3 shipping days.  Once the kit arrives, open it and inside there are step-by-step instructions for how to gather the samples needed for the testing you selected. We've made it even easier with step-by-step instructions and videos.

After you’ve finished up your quick sample collection, place your sample kit back in the box, apply the shipping label and send off to our certified lab partner. We cover the shipping and handling. 

When will I receive my kit?

Your kit can take up to 2 business days to ship. Once your testing kit has shipped, it will arrive within 1-3 shipping days.

When will I receive my results?

Once the lab has received your your complete lab testing sample kit, your results will take usually 3-5 business days or less. Keep in mind it could take 1-3 days to reach the lab once you mail it. You will receive an email notifying you that your results are ready and view them in your account.

What results and interpretation will be provided?

When your results are ready, you will receive an email notifying you that your results are ready to viewed in your account. On your personalized results document, you will see a detailed lab report of your test results. For wellness, this will include your results and an indication of whether or not they were in normal ranges, or for STD whether or not diseases were detected. Additionally, you will receive care sheets with helpful information related to your tests.

Can I order tests for someone else?

In order to provide you the highest quality experience, you can only order tests for yourself. Unfortunately, we cannot accept orders placed for another person.

How should I prepare for the blood spot collection?

The dried blood spot is a quick and easy testing process that requires small drops of blood from your finger using a lancet that is provided in the kit. Be sure to drink plenty of water in the hours before collecting your blood spot sample. Fasting for 10-12 hours without any food or drink, except water, is required if testing for lipids and other heart health markers including LDL, HDL, Total cholesterol, Hba1c, Triglycerides and hs-CRP.

How soon do I need to complete and ship my kit?

We know you’ll be anxiously awaiting your kit arrival! Once your kit arrives at your home, you should complete it as soon as possible. After collecting your specimen samples (see instructions), the kit should be mailed back to the lab within 48 hours to ensure it’s in good shape when it arrives. No worries on the the timing it takes to ship to the lab, they will remain stable for up to 2 weeks on average. All kits expire 6 months after ordering, so don’t wait too long!

How will the charge appear on my bank statement?

We respect your privacy, which is why all charges will appear as “HT Express” if you pay directly by credit card, or as "PAYPAL *HT EXPRESS" if you pay using PayPal.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® and American Express®. We also accept Paypal, prepaid Visa® and American Express® gift cards, as well as HSA and FSA (Health Savings and Flexible Savings) account cards that are Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® or American Express®.

Charges will appear on your statement as “HT Express” if you pay directly by credit card, or as "PAYPAL *HT EXPRESS" if you pay using PayPal.

Can I use insurance?

Currently, we are only able to accept insurance for STD Standard Test Panel and STD Test Panel with HPV. While we work with most insurance providers, we are unable to accept Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare. If any amount of your testing is not covered by your insurance provider, a bill will be mailed to your home or preferred address from the lab for the remaining balance.

Insurance coverage varies depending upon your plan. If you have any questions about your insurance coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly. You can find the number for your insurance provider on the back of your insurance card.

We accept all major credit and debit cards for your convenience, including HSAs and FSAs.

Are your lab partners certified?

All of our laboratory partners are CLIA-certified. Together we are able to bring lab testing directly to your door.

Am I able to order test kits where I live?

Most of our tests are available to patients in all States except Arkansas, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina and Rhode Island. Additional State restrictions may apply for individual tests based on lab availability. Don’t see your location? We are working quickly to make sure our testing kits are available nationwide.

At this time, we do not ship internationally, including Canada or Mexico.

Do kits expire?

All kits must be returned to the lab within 6 months of the date ordered.

Are there any age restrictions?

You must be 18 years of age or older in order to test through Health Test Express, but some tests may have stricter age requirements based on medical recommendations and guidance.

How do I talk to a doctor?

After you receive your results, you will receive information about scheduling a consultation with our physicians. If your test results are normal, but you have further questions about care, you should share your report with your primary care physician or local health department.

Can I cancel my order?

Will my kit packaging say what my test is for?

Kits are shipped in a generic lab mailer envelope. Our STD kits are contained in an unmarked box with no branding on the outside. For added privacy, our wellness kits are branded with the Health Test Express logo and contact information, but are not printed with what your test is for. Your kit will simply say Health Test Express and the lab name on the outside. Your invoice and lab requisition form, however, will contain the actual test name(s).
